The
Saginaw Spirit, a team in the Ontario Hockey League
(OHL) partnered with 7-Eleven licensee, Garb-Ko
Inc., operator of more than 100 7-Eleven convenience
stores, to launch a new promotion for the upcoming
2007-2008 hockey season..
"We
have had a great relationship with 7-Eleven since
the first year of the Spirit project," Spirit
vice president of sales and marketing, Brian Prout,
told the site. "This new promotion only strengthens
our relationship and will drive traffic to both
businesses. This is just one more exciting opportunity
for our fans."
As
part of the promotion, when fans bring a 32-ounce
or larger Big Gulp, Slurpee or coffee cup into
the teams Spirit Store or The Dow Event
Center, they will receive an upper level Spirit
ticket for $7.11, the Web site reported. The promotion
will run from Sept. 19 to Dec. 15, with one discounted
ticket per cup and no limits.
"7-Eleven
is looking forward to another big year associated
with the Spirit. We've put together a great program
with the Show your Cup and Save," Larry Hauck,
director of marketing for Garb-Ko Inc., told the
Web site. "Being able to present your cup
at the Spirit office for a special $7.11 priced
ticket is a great value for Spirit fans."
In
addition to the promotion, 7-Eleven is again sponsoring
the team's start time of 7:11 p.m. for weekday
and Saturday home games. Also returning this year
is the 7-Eleven Free Slurpee Promotion, where
in the case of the total score of a Spirit home
hockey game equals seven or 11, every fan in attendance
wins a free Slurpee.
